Sean GrIffIths

Griffiths initially trained as an architect and was a founder member and director of the group, FAT, known internationally for its collaborative, fine art and architectural practice. FAT represented the UK at the 2014 Venice Architecture Biennale. Since 2014, Griffiths has practiced as an artist. He had created a series of large scale installations including:

“My Dreams of Levitation” at RoomArtSpace, London, 2014 which brought viewers into an encounter with a new set of boundaries that interrupted the Georgian rooms of an existing 19th century, terraced house,

“Distant Drum”, Lyme Park, Cheshire, 2015, beat which reinterpreted an existing line of site in an 18th century parkland, through an interactive, electronic drum kit which activated sound and lights,

“40;30”, Ambika P3, London 2015, a random arrangement of 53 hanging doorframes, whose positions were based on chance operations, reflected in 10 mirrors, creating a boundless space of interconnected path ways.

“Another Mountain, Another Forest”, Kunstforening, Tromsø, Norway 2016 – a random

arrangement of 100 trees hung from the ceiling and lines made using gravel on the floor,

through which visitors moved as they passed through the gallery.
